KickTweet

KickTweet is a super simple KDE applet for interacting with Twitter.

Currently there are two versions, one for KDE3, one for KDE4. KDE3 is stable, but no longer under development. KDE4 is stable but not feature complete and is under active development. Also, one works one KDE3, one on KDE4 :-)

KickTweet (KDE4) Features

  • Simple and small plasmoid.

KickTweet (KDE3) Features

  • Simple and small. Goes right into the Kicker, no separate application.
  • Automatically converts URL's into shorter form with TinyURL.
  • Did I mention simple?

Version 0.3.1
Version 0.3.1 is rad! Stable in limited testing, please report any problems as you find them. The only outstanding issue is that the notifications sometimes take a while to show, not really a showstopper, and possibly just related to the setup I am running. This will be the base of the stable line while more functionality is added into the trunk.

v0.3.1 Source (+ KDevelop project)
v0.3.1 Linux x86 with installer

Version 0.2
Version 0.2 is more refined than 0.1, but is not 'stable'. Really it is far more stable than 0.1, but I'm trying to convey that it isn't a finished product yet. Version 0.2 changes the interface to use a pop-up menu, puts network operations in their own thread, handles errors better, and just behaves better in general.

v0.2 Source (+ KDevelop project)
v0.2 Linux x86 with installer

Version 0.1
Version 0.1 is totally alpha. There are tons of things that need to be done, however it is usable. You can login and tweet just fine. Be aware that network operations take place in the main thread, so the UI will appear to lock a bit while things are being sent. Enjoy!

v0.1 Source (+ KDevelop project)
v0.1 Linux x86 with installer
